Xabi Alonso Dismissed

Xabi Alonso's departure from his role as head coach of Real Madrid surprised no one, especially among the club's fans. The club announced on Monday that Alonso left his position "by mutual agreement," and Alvaro Arbeloa, a former player, has been promoted from the youth team to take his place.

Alonso, 44, spent less than a year in charge after signing a three-year contract last summer, succeeding Carlo Ancelotti. Poor on-field performances and conflicts with players and club management led to this decision.

Issues During His Tenure

Football experts argue that, despite his status as a club legend, Alonso made several significant mistakes that did not shield him from the wrath of President Florentino Perez. The drastic loss to rivals Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Supercup highlighted the frustrations of the club's leadership. Additionally, a series of poor results in La Liga and a drop in standings exacerbated the situation.

The public conflict between Alonso and star player Vinicius Junior significantly contributed to his dismissal. After being substituted during a crucial match, Vinicius displayed disdain towards the coach, severely damaging Alonso's image in the eyes of the club's administration.

Alvaro Arbeloa as the New Coach

Alvaro Arbeloa, a former player of the team, has now taken the reins of the team. Despite lacking high-level experience, Arbeloa previously coached the youth team and is familiar with the club. However, his direct temperament and managerial inexperience may present challenges in managing the team's star players.

Following his dismissal, Alonso stated that he leaves with "gratitude, respect, and pride," and that it was an honor to coach Real Madrid. Arbeloa now has the task of steering the team back on track during a delicate period.
