A woman was killed by an officer of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during a large-scale immigration operation in Minneapolis. According to a statement made by the spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, Tricia McLaughlin, the incident occurred on Wednesday in a residential neighborhood.

McLaughlin confirmed that the ICE officer fired upon the woman from her vehicle after considering that he was in a life-threatening situation, posing a risk to himself, fellow law enforcement officers, and public safety. "An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his law enforcement colleagues, and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots," McLaughlin stated in a post on X.
