Recent Video Emerges in Minnesota Killing Case

A new video has surfaced showing the final moments of a Minnesota woman’s encounter with an immigration officer before she was fatally shot, igniting public fury across the United States regarding the shooting and the exclusion of local agencies from the investigation. On Friday, a prosecutor in Minnesota appealed to the public to share any recordings and evidence related to the deadly shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, who was killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer.

The 47-second clip, released online by a conservative news outlet in Minnesota, Alpha News, captures the incident from the perspective of Officer Jonathan Ross of ICE, who fired his weapon on January 10. With sirens blaring in the background, Ross, 43, approaches and circumvents Good’s vehicle in the middle of the road, purportedly recording the encounter with his mobile phone. Meanwhile, Good’s wife is filming the encounter and can be seen moving around the vehicle.

A series of verbal exchanges took place between the two. "It’s okay, I’m not mad at you," Good says as the officer walks by her door. “American citizen, former veteran,” her wife states, holding her phone. “You want to attack us? Go grab your lunch, big boy.” As other officers approach the driver’s side, one begins to shout, “Get out of the car, get out of the car!” Ross then positions himself in front of the vehicle, and as Good puts the car in reverse, turning the wheel towards the passenger side, she attempts to drive away, prompting Ross to open fire.

The impact can be heard as Good’s vehicle collides with other parked cars on the street. The Trump administration has defended the ICE officer, claiming he was acting in self-defense. Local Minnesota officials condemned the federal agencies for excluding them from the investigation, with one prosecutor stating that investigations had been taken over by federal agents.

Good's killing marks the fourth such incident since the onset of Trump’s hardline immigration policies over the past year. Protests continued on Friday in Minneapolis, with hundreds gathering at a federal facility that has become a focal point for demonstrations against ICE. Organizers have planned hundreds of protests nationwide over the weekend.
