Trump Wears 'Make Iran Great Again' Hat Amid Concerns Over Iranian Relations
Senator Lindsey Graham Shows Support for Trump
American Senator Lindsey Graham posted a photograph of President Donald Trump wearing a hat emblazoned with the slogan "Make Iran Great Again," raising concerns about a potential resurgence of war with Iran. Graham, a close ally of Trump and a proponent of firm foreign policy, shared the image on X, asserting that Trump has strengthened the United States both domestically and internationally.
"God bless our Commander in Chief and all the brave men and women who serve him," wrote the Republican senator. "I am proud to be an American. God bless and protect the brave people in Iran who oppose tyranny."
The hat, which reinterprets Trump’s slogan "Make America Great Again," seems to allude to regime change in Iran. The photo was taken during Graham's trip with Trump aboard Air Force One, traveling from Florida to Washington, D.C., on Sunday evening. Earlier, Graham had advocated for the removal of the Iranian government in an interview while wearing the same hat.
"Trump hasn’t turned his back on the Iranian people," Graham stated, referencing sporadic protests against the government across the country. "So I pray and hope that 2026 will be the year we make Iran great again," he expressed on Fox News, while wearing the hat that also features a pre-1979 Islamic Revolution Iranian flag.
On Sunday, Trump reiterated a warning that the U.S. would intervene militarily against the Iranian government if security forces begin killing protesters. "If they start killing people as they have in the past, I think they will be hit very hard by the United States," he told reporters.
American politicians supporting Iranian protests have aligned themselves with the Israeli attack on Iran in June, which resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties. Iranian officials have dismissed Trump’s threats, warning they would oppose any U.S. attacks. "We will not back down in the face of the enemy," wrote Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on X after Maduro was captured in Caracas.
In June, the U.S. joined Israel’s attack on Iran, bombarding the country’s three main nuclear sites. Iran retaliated by launching missiles at an American airbase in Doha, causing damage without casualties. A ceasefire was established shortly after the Iranian attack.
Last week, Trump threatened to reignite war if Iran attempts to rebuild its nuclear program or missile arsenal. "Now I hear that Iran is trying to strengthen itself, and if they do, we will have to destroy them," Trump stated. "We will destroy them. We will hit them mercilessly." This unprecedented U.S. action in Venezuela has raised speculation that Iran could be Trump’s next target.
