Ethereum Stablecoin Transfers Reach Historic $8 Trillion in Q4 2025
Record Transfers on Ethereum
Ethereum processed $8 trillion in stablecoin transfers in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking a new historical peak. This amount is nearly double the volume from the second quarter, which stood at just over $4 trillion, according to reports from Token Terminal.
The issuance of stablecoins on Ethereum increased by approximately 43% in 2025, rising from $127 billion to $181 billion by the end of the year, as reported by BlockWorks. “This is not speculation. These are global payments happening on the blockchain,” commented a user on X. With the integration of SWIFT-type systems and the completion of real-world asset tokenization, adoption is expected to accelerate further.
Increases in Transactions and Active Addresses
This record aligns with a peak in total daily transactions on the Ethereum network (ETH), which reached 2.23 million at the end of December, according to Etherscan. Daily transactions on Ethereum increased by 48% compared to the same period last year, and monthly active addresses hit a record high of 10.4 million in December.
The daily number of unique active addresses, whether senders or receivers, exceeded 1 million at the end of December. The Ethereum network continues to lead in the tokenization of real-world assets, holding approximately 65% market share of the total value of tokenized assets on the blockchain.
