Progress in Combating Gender-Based Violence Worldwide

In a world where gender-based violence affects millions of women and girls, change occurs only when they are "at the center of every decision," stated Erin Kenny, Global Coordinator of the Spotlight Initiative. This partnership between the United Nations and the European Union aims to combat abuse in all its forms. Since its establishment in 2017, Spotlight has been working to prevent violence, including sexual and gender-based violence, femicide, human trafficking, and labor exploitation.

In Haiti, Taina, a young victim of gender-based violence, received medical, psychological, and social support thanks to the Spotlight Initiative, thus regaining hope and a better future.
