Immigration Agent Fatally Shoots Woman in Minneapolis
US Immigration Agent Shoots Woman During Raid
A woman was fatally shot by a US immigration agent in her vehicle during a raid in Minneapolis, sparking protests across the Minnesota city. Local authorities and the administration of President Donald Trump have provided varying accounts of the incident.
The woman, identified as Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot while serving as a legal observer at protests against Trump's immigration policies. According to video recordings, an ICE agent fired three shots at her vehicle, which then veered out of control and collided with parked cars. Witnesses recorded the terrifying moments, shouting “Shame!” at the agent.
Renee was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her mother stated that her daughter was an incredibly empathetic person who always cared for others. According to her stepfather, Renee had a six-year-old child and two others in her care.
Following the incident, President Trump claimed that Renee was “disturbing” and that the ICE agent acted in self-defense. This assertion has been challenged by local authorities who are calling for a fair and swift investigation.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned the narrative presented by the Trump administration, emphasizing the need for a transparent investigation. Members of the Minneapolis City Council stated that “anyone who kills in our city must be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted according to the law.”
