China Conducts Military Drills Around Taiwan

China has carried out a two-day military exercise, dubbed Justice Mission 2025, around Taiwan, marking the sixth round of large-scale drills since the visit of then-U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to the island in 2022. The exercises included 10 hours of live-fire training, during which Chinese forces practiced surrounding Taiwan and blockading its major ports.

The drills commenced on Monday in the waters and airspace to the north, southwest, southeast, and east of Taiwan, as reported by Shi Yi, spokesperson for the Eastern Theater Command of China. The exercises featured naval destroyers, frigates, fighter jets, bombers, drones, and long-range missiles simulating the takeover of Taiwan's airspace, the blockade of its ports, and strikes on critical infrastructure,
