Bitcoin and Altcoins Start 2026 Strong: Are New Highs Ahead?
Cryptocurrency Prices on the Rise
Bitcoin and several major altcoins are facing selling pressure near their resistance levels; however, price adjustments are expected to find support at nearby moving averages. Bitcoin (BTC) is under pressure, attempting to maintain its price below $91,500. According to data from Farside Investors, BTC-related funds experienced outflows of $243.2 million after attracting $1.16 billion in the first two trading days of the new year, suggesting caution at higher levels.
A positive sign for BTC is that whales and sharks have accumulated 56,227 BTC since mid-December, according to analysis platform Santiment. Additionally, Bill Miller IV, investment director at Miller Value Partners, stated on CNBC that BTC is establishing a higher base compared to the spring of 2025 and expects BTC to "break a higher peak than last autumn's peak."
Price Predictions for Cryptocurrencies
Bitcoin (BTC) has dropped from $94,789, indicating a bearish attempt to keep the price within a range. Adjustments are anticipated to find support at the 20-day exponential moving average ($90,022). If the price of Bitcoin rebounds strongly from the 20-day EMA, the likelihood of breaking the resistance at $94,589 increases, potentially driving the price towards the psychological level of $100,000.
Predictions for Ether (ETH) suggest it has broken out of a symmetrical triangle but failed to maintain higher levels. The price of Ether has re-entered the triangle, and the next support will be at the moving averages. Should the price rebound, ETH could rise to $3,659 and then to $4,000.
For XRP, strong resistance is anticipated at the descending trendline, and a closure above this line will signal a change. BNB is facing attempts to halt at $928 but is expected that bulls may have other plans, and a closure above this level will complete an ascending pattern.
Conclusions
Overall, the cryptocurrency market may continue to recover, but caution is advised regarding risks of dropping below the moving average levels, which could indicate a return of sellers. Investors are encouraged to conduct their own analyses before making investment decisions.
