Michael Burry Issues Troubling Predictions for AI Market

Michael Burry, renowned for his controversial investments and portrayed by Christian Bale in the film "The Big Short," has revealed a bet against Nvidia and Palantir worth approximately $10 million, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. His wager will be profitable if Nvidia's stock drops by 37% to $110 (currently around $190) and if Palantir declines to $50 from about $200.

Burry made these predictions in his recent Substack newsletter, stating that the AI market has "disconnected from reality," comparing it to the dot-com bubble. He also likened Nvidia to Enron, arguing that the company uses tactics designed to exaggerate the lifespan of its chips and accounting practices to inflate its earnings.

Is he correct? While Burry made $700 million betting against the housing market before the 2008 crisis, many of his predictions over the last 15 years have largely been incorrect.
