Global CEOs Identify Key Concerns Ahead of 2026
World Economic Forum Reveals Global Risk Report for 2026
A recent survey conducted by the World Economic Forum has highlighted the primary concerns of over 1,300 global leaders and experts. Topping the list of immediate worries is the issue of "geo-economic confrontation," identified as the most pressing risk for the next two years. This has shifted the focus away from climate-related issues, which previously dominated executive concerns, to include disinformation and societal polarization.
However, climate change has not entirely faded from their radar. When asked about long-term risks, environmental issues still ranked highest, including extreme weather events, biodiversity loss, and critical changes in Earth’s systems. The potential adverse consequences of AI technologies were also recognized as a long-term threat rather than an immediate danger.
The findings reflect the perspectives of political leaders, CEOs, and experts responsible for policy-making and business strategy, rather than the general public's opinion. These discoveries are set to be discussed at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, next week.
