Massive Protests in Minneapolis and Other Cities

Demonstrators took to the streets of Minneapolis, chanting the name of the woman killed by a federal agent in the Minnesota city, amidst widespread outrage over the use of force in the immigration campaign of the Trump administration. Organizers announced that over 1,000 events are planned across America this Saturday under the slogan "ICE, Out for Good," referring to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, which is facing increasing opposition to the mass deportation policies promoted by President Donald Trump.

The slogan also refers to Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three who was shot dead in her car by an ICE agent. Thousands braved the cold weather and made their way to a snow-covered park to protest near the site of the incident. They carried signs with messages such as "ICE OUT" from Minnesota. At the beginning of the protest, one voice shouted: "Say her name!" and the crowd responded: "Renee Good!" Her death has sparked strong emotions nationwide.

In Philadelphia, protesters marched in the rain from City Hall to the ICE office. Others gathered in New York, Washington D.C., and Boston, with assemblies attracting dozens of participants. More protests are also planned for Sunday. Calls for protest are amplified by the "No Kings" movement, a network of leftist organizations that organized demonstrations against Trump nationwide last year.

The Trump administration has attempted to portray Good as a "domestic terrorist," insisting that the agent who fatally shot her acted in self-defense. This narrative is strongly contested by local officials and numerous analysts, who assert that footage shows Good's vehicle was moving away from the agent and did not pose a threat to his life. Authorities and residents of Minnesota have expressed concern that local law enforcement agencies have been excluded from the FBI investigation into the shooting in Minneapolis.

According to The Trace, a media outlet focused on gun violence, Good was the fourth person killed by federal immigration agents since the start of the Trump administration's deportation campaign, with seven others injured.
