UNI-T MSO with Integrated Logic Analyzer

[Kerry Wong] emphasizes that the Uni-T MSO oscilloscopes come with a built-in logic analyzer — this is the MSO part, or Mixed Signal Oscilloscope — but probes must be added. He demonstrates how this device works in a recent video. He has already evaluated the analog capabilities of this oscilloscope and was not disappointed. Although the probes are not very inexpensive, they unlock the mixed signal capabilities of the instrument. Currently, simple logic analyzers are quite affordable, but integrating them into an oscilloscope offers several advantages, including integrated triggering and the convenience of switching measurement modes seamlessly. In many cases, the ability to decode UART signals without the need for a laptop and software is an attractive feature. If you have only used very cheap USB logic analyzers, you may be surprised by some of the features of a more serious instrument. Is it worth the additional financial effort? That depends on you and what you are doing. But if you've ever wondered whether to invest in digital probes for a UNI-T oscilloscope, [Kerry] can help you make the decision.
