Recapturing Strategic Cities

Yemeni government forces, supported by Saudi Arabia, have successfully regained a series of territories from the Southern Transitional Council (STC), backed by the United Arab Emirates, amid escalating tensions between regional Gulf powers. Rashad al-Alimi, leader of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), stated that the "Homeland Shield" forces achieved a "record success" in recapturing all military and security positions in Hadramout province, bordering Saudi Arabia.

Control Over Mukalla

The Yemeni government has announced that it has regained control of Mukalla, a significant eastern port city and the capital of Hadramout province, which was occupied by the STC last month. Mohammed Omar Suwailam, director of the Youth Office in the al-Mahra governorate, reported that the "Homeland Shield" forces took control of all nine districts of the governorate following the STC's withdrawal.

Escalating Tensions and Casualties

Since Friday, at least 80 STC fighters have been reported dead, with 152 injured. Additionally, 130 STC members have been captured. Military officials reported that Saudi fighter jets conducted intense airstrikes on an STC camp near Mukalla on Saturday. The STC welcomed a dialogue offer from Saudi Arabia, viewing it as a "genuine opportunity" to protect the aspirations of the southern population.

Improving Conditions in Hadramout

Local sources reported that life is beginning to return to normal in the city of Seiyun, where activities have resumed to reactivate state institutions and continue providing services to citizens. Hadramout Governor Salem Ahmed Said al-Khanbashi arrived at the Seiyun airport after the "Homeland Shield" forces took control of the region. However, tensions persist in other parts of southern Yemen, and the internationally recognized government has issued a statement regarding restrictions imposed by the STC in the port of Aden, calling for their immediate cessation.
