Harsh Summer in Gaza

The summer has made life unbearable for the people of Gaza, especially for the injured, children, and the elderly, with hundreds of thousands displaced due to the devastating war waged by Israel. They are facing a desperate struggle for survival with extremely limited humanitarian aid.

A nine-year-old boy, Assad al-Madhna, lost his left arm after Israeli gunfire hit a group of children playing in al-Zuwayda, Central Gaza. The same attack also injured his leg. Assad's pain has intensified during the winter as the metal rod supporting his leg becomes stiff due to the cold.

"I cannot play with the other children; my feet and hands froze in the winter," he stated. "I have not received any prosthetics, and changing clothes has become a real challenge, and at night, the cold becomes unbearable."

Severe Humanitarian Conditions

Although there has been a fragile truce between Israel and Hamas, Palestinians in overcrowded camps—often in damaged tents and surrounded by mud—continue to face severe humanitarian conditions, struggling to survive with minimal resources.

An 18-year-old girl, Waed Murad, survived an attack that destroyed her entire family. She now lives with an injury profoundly affecting her life, and her pain grows as temperatures drop.

International Appeals

The international community has recently condemned Israel's decision to suspend operations of several international non-governmental organizations in the occupied Palestinian territories. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern, calling for the reversal of this measure, which could exacerbate the existing humanitarian crisis.

"This recent action will further worsen the conditions for the Palestinian people," stated the spokesperson for the Secretary-General.
