Following a failed governance vote, Aave founder Stani Kulechov has unveiled a plan to extend beyond DeFi lending and reshape how token holders capture value. Kulechov emphasized that the protocol must evolve and explore opportunities in real assets, institutional loans, and consumer-focused financial products.

In a post published on the Aave governance forum, Kulechov highlighted that the future of DeFi growth remains uncertain without a broader market expansion. He also mentioned that Aave Labs intends to distribute non-protocol revenues to AAVE token holders, potentially broadening the ways the token captures value beyond governance participation.
