Astronauts Return to Earth Following Medical Evacuation
Astronauts Repatriated After 11-Hour Flight
For four astronauts, the journey concluded in an unexpected manner. They departed the International Space Station (ISS) a month earlier than planned due to a medical issue affecting one crew member. This morning, the team safely landed off the coast of California after an 11-hour journey aboard the Dragon Endeavour spacecraft.
Astronauts Mike Fincke, Zena Cardman, Kimiya Yui from Japan, and cosmonaut Oleg Platonov arrived at the ISS on August 1, expecting to stay for six and a half months. NASA has not provided details regarding the mentioned medical condition, respecting the privacy of those involved.
